[Jakarta] Dragon Flames - Kemang

Looking for place to eat dimsum with affordable price? Well, you should try this one. Dragon Flames restaurant located in Kemang area one of the famous hang out area in South Jakarta. This restaurant served Chinese and Taiwanese food. We can find many dimsum menus and suki selections at this resto. Last week, I 've been invited to try their dimsums, suki and Hongkong roasted duck. They served GREAT dimsums.

[Jakarta] Arasseo - Soju Bar and Eatery, Senopati

Arasseo, Soju Bar and Eatery is situated on the same area as Pao Pao Senopati. Uniquely these two restaurants have totally opposite ambiance, while Pao Pao tend to has darker room, Arasseo come out with totally bright room with white domination. Well actually, on last Friday I came to this restaurant by accident when i'm looking for Pao Pao. I fell in love with its interior on the first sight.

I love how Arasseo set its dining room with clean, simple and bright interior. The white domination came from ceiling to the wall, and there were some bricks accent inside. While I was looking at the texture on their walls, it reminded me of igloo, the ice house. I will just write a quick review, seeing that I only did a quick dinner and just ordered a few menus.

I came to this restaurant, greeted, and escorted to our table by their friendly staff. She handed me their menu and started to explain about Arasseo. As usual we were asking about their recommendation and after a long discussion with Kak Mira my accompany tonight, we ordered Ojingeo Bokum, Tobiko egg roll and Green tea bingsu as our dessert. After we ordered food, staff will give us complimentary dishes such as kimchi and cassava chips. Since I didn't bring my camera, so I just took a photo using my phone (and i'm really sorry about the resolution). Most of the picture are belong to Kak Mira.

Ojingeo Bokum (Stir fried squid in spicy sauce) - 90K

You can adjust your spicy level on this menu, I tried the less spicy level as I always do. 

Tobiko Egg Roll (Egg roll with fish roe and cheese filling) - 52K

This is my fave dish so far, yes I prefer to have savory dish than sweet LOL. The egg roll was so fluffy, combined with cheese, mayonnaise and fish roe. Try to add chili sauce as dipping sauce to make it even better.  

Green Tea Bingsu - 45K

This matcha (green tea) ice cream was really good and not too sweet, they also added crunchy corn flakes on the top of bingsu not to mention the sweet and tender read bean.

Mocktail Strawberry - 50K

This was actually ordered by kak Mira, I just take a sip to taste it. It has sweet and sour flavor, I like it because its soda flavor didn't overpowering and I still can tasted chopped fresh strawberries in this drink, so refreshing :). 

Overall I had a pleasant dinner at Arasseo, nonetheless somehow I felt it quite pricey. But since it was a great dining ambiance and topnotch service by the staff, I think it should be ok. Next time I will visit Arasseo to try their Cheese Chicken and Dakgangjeong (Fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce).

[Jakarta] Pao Pao - Liquor & Dim Sum

Yeayyy another hang out place in Senopati area just did their soft launching on Dec 18th and on the second day I came and being accompany by Cha Cha one of foodies on Instagram :D. 

Too bad I can't take a picture of Pao Pao interior due to its crowd and the place was too dark. I just succeed to capture a neon light behind the bar and the neon sign outside the place. Pao Pao's interior influenced by Traditional Chinese Restaurant combined with industrial theme.  

I arrived 30 minutes earlier than our meet up schedule and Pao Pao almost already full booked. Due to their soft opening event, there were some celebrities and famous people like Daniel Mananta, Andre Darwis, Andra Asmasoebrata and Nadia Saphira acted as host that day and a lot of their friends came to visit. Lucky me, there was two seats left for me and Cha cha. Cha cha said that she wanted to meet her friend at the event and turned out Daniel Mananta was her friend. He even gave us free drinks, "I'll buy you drinks, because I one of the host today". We just nodded our head without knowing what kind of drinks that might be came out. 

We only ordered 3 kinds of dimsum Siu Long Bao, Guo Tie and Char Siu Bao, pardon me I just took a picture of Char Siu Bao, hahaha I might be too hungry to take a photo that day. Siu Long Bao became my fave dish so far and I might be like it too much LOL. It served hot and you better eat those soon before it cooling down. The filling was really tasteful and rich flavor, I lost of words really *lebay*, I really recommend you to order this.

I promised it won't become my first and last visit. Hopefully it will not too crowded next time and on my next visit, I'll try their dimsum packages, there are two types of packages; fried dimsums (100k) with 4 types of dimsum with 12 pieces and steamed dimsums (100k) with 4 types of dimsum with 16 pieces. 

From total five menus we just have to pay for two menus, whaatt? we don't know why, we already asked the waiter but he said that the bill just right. Thank you Daniel for being a great host that day.

[Bandung] Saka Bistro & Bar - Setiabudhi

I read so many reviews on Instagram about Saka Bistro's latte art and it was so inviting, I promised to visit this place if I come to Bandung. Thanks God finally I visited Bandung last month, and Saka Bistro already on my top list. As we are "makan centil", sometimes we decided what cafes or places that we wanna visit just by its centil level :P. We thought that Saka Bistro latte art things were so "centil" and I couldn't resist it. So here I am, writing this post after a great visit to that place.
